You agreed to having necessary maintenance taken care of, after filing a maintenance request, in your signed housing contract!

Tips for filing maintenance request:
- File a separate request for each issue, for each location an issue is at.
- Know your rights. If you're unsure, consult the Berkeley City Code below, or our "Hazards" page.
- Write a clear description of what is wrong, and what it should be instead (e.g. "There is no hot water in the showers, there needs to be hot and cold running water at all times, according to the City of Berkeley")
- If the issue is in a common area (e.g. lounge, restrooms, etc), encourage your floor and building mates to also file a request. If it is in your personal room, encourage your roommates to report the issue as well. Doing so increases attention brought to the issue, and consequently the responsiveness to getting it amended.

You can submit a safety concern regarding a residence hall and request a building inspection for your dorm. This can aid in identifying and amending issues in a more timely manner.
Additionally, there are other options within the form for other matters you would like addressed.
Instructions to submit:

2. Select your reason(s) for why you are contacting EH&S.
3. Enter your name and email so you can be contacted regarding your issue.
4. Include a short message describing your issue/request.
5. Click "submit".
